At some point I'd really like to sit down and build a clock using an ESP32
and either a dot-matrix LED grid or a decently-sized LCD/OLED screen.

OLED is probably not going to be a good choice due to image retention issues
on something like a clock. As interesting as eink screens are, the lack of
backlighting would suck hard for a clock.

That really cuts down on the options, doesn't it? LCD or LED.

Maybe someday I'll be able to get my situation stabilized enough to do such
a project...
